Adult Clubs

HPL Adult Book Club

Join us on the last Wednesday of each month at 1pm as we discuss the latest selection.

Simply Books: Book Club

All are welcome! Meetings are on the 1st Friday of the month @ 10:30 AM in the Annex. Members are responsible for obtaining their own book. To join or for more info please contact Tiz Hanson at rnthanson@yahoo.com

Parks and Pages: A collaborative book club with the NPS

Join us for a free monthly book club hosted by the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt Historic Site! The book club meets on the last Thursday of the month from 6pm-7pm, alternating between the Dyson Room of the Wallace Center and the Hyde Park Library.

Chess Club

All are welcome – This club meets every Tuesday from 5:30-7 in the Annex. If able, please bring your chess sets as supplies are limited.

Go Club

All are welcome- people who are curious can learn to play in 15 minutes or less! Experienced players are also encouraged to attend and play a game or two. We are a AGA official Go club here in the Hudson Valley (see hudsonvalleygo.org)

Hyde Park Crafters (formerly Needleworkers)

The Hyde Park Crafters are a fun and welcoming group that meet at the library every Thursday from 10 to noon. They would love for other crafters to join their group! Whether you draw, paint, crochet, knit, cross stitch, scrapbook, embroider, or more, you’re welcome to join! All experience levels welcome.

Woolsevelts Knitting Circle

Every Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm, the Woosevelts Knitting Circle meets in the Annex for time to work on projects and socialize. Join us!

Great Decisions

The Great Decisions program in Hyde Park is a small discussion group that meets monthly the second Tuesday of the month from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Hyde Park Library collaboratory. (No meetings in August or December) The program focuses on eight different foreign policy issues each year which have been selected by the Foreign Policy Association. An article on each topic is provided in advance and a brief video is also occasionally used. For the extra two months, the group selects other foreign policy topics they would like to discuss.

Join Mrs. B and our team as they prepare for the thrilling battle of the books, a reading competition resulting in libraries going head-to-head for yearly bragging rights!

Come to the Children’s Room on the third Thursday of each month for some social time to play with Legos and other building blocks. You’re only limited by your imagination!
