The Friends of the Hyde Park Library is an organization of volunteers to help in fund raising events, securing grants, and to help at the library during regular hours or at special events. Jewelry Sale
The Friends are now accepting donations for their jewelry sale, which will take place in the library annex on November 13 and 14! You can drop off donations at the circulation desk of the library.

Friends’ initiatives benefit library programs and services.
Their accomplishments of the past year include:
- Handing out children’s books at Hyde Park Community Day
- Assisting the library with their budget and trustee vote
- Sorting, tagging, and pricing the generous jewelry donations from last year’s sale – which raise more than $9,000!
- Purchasing holiday gift cards for library staff ($140)
- Hosting a Bundled Book and Holiday Jewelry Sale, which raised $74
- Donating $1,000 to the library’s Building and Grounds Committee for building improvements such as new bathroom fixtures and art work
- Funding museum passes for the library to loan out ($1,075)
- Paying for upgrades to the children’s room ($1,183.84)
- Contributing $716 to the library’s Summer Reading Program
- Contributing money to the library’s much-needed IT upgrades ($1,500)
- Collecting and sorting books for the annual book sale (no small feat)
- Raising $2,342.20 at the annual book sale, then sorting remaining books for donation
- Helping the library’s Centennial Committee with their marketing ($55)
- Recruiting fabulous new members, including Nancy and Mo!
