Join us for a free Raku demonstration by The Salt Point Potter on August 31st at 2pm. This event will bring together Earth, Fire, and Water in a dynamic process – we remove hot clay pots from a kiln and place them directly into combustible materials. The resulting fire is then deprived of oxygen, resulting in a reduction atmosphere. The reduction and smoking that happens all add to the unique look of Raku pottery.
